电铃是利用电磁铁的特性，通过电源开关的反复闭合装置来控制缠绕在主磁芯线圈中的电流通断形成主磁路对弹性悬浮磁芯的磁路吸合与分离交替变化，使连接在弹性悬浮磁芯上的电锤在铃体表面产生振动并发出声波的机器。
